Polk Record and Custody Contacts

Polk County separates records, processing, detention, release, and court functions. Call the contact that matches the question. PCSO does not publish guaranteed counter hours for Records Management, so check the official page or call before an in-person visit.

Use these official routes based on the kind and stage of the record:

• For a booking sheet or booking photograph, search the PCSO jail portal first, then ask Records Management for the specific file if it is missing or older.
• For current custody or a booking-date search, use PCSO Jail Information Search or call the Processing Center. A booking-date result does not always mean the person remains jailed.
• For an LPD, WHPD, or BPD incident report, contact the police department that made the arrest. PCSO keeps the county intake record, not every city report.
• For filed charges and the final case result, use the Polk County Clerk criminal-record system. Booking allegations can change after court review.
• For a warrant question, use PCSO's possible-warrant inquiry and confirm through the Warrants Unit at 863-298-6499 or Wanted@polksheriff.org.
• For a sentenced state prisoner's record or photo, use the Florida Department of Corrections Offender Search. Federal and immigration custody require the BOP or ICE locator.
• For release alerts, use Florida VINE. The Sheriff's Releasing Center can answer release-function questions but is separate from the records office.
